D111- Privacy Design Strategies

Approximate Length – 90 Minutes

Intended Audience – Privacy Engineers and other Privacy Professionals, Security Engineers,  Software Developers, Managers, Architects and Engineers.

Lesson Description

How can we design privacy into a product, service, or process right from the start? Doing it effectively requires more than just maintaining a general eye towards privacy during the design process. It requires a strategic approach that prioritizes privacy by ensuring that key mechanisms are considered, and applied as appropriate. Relying on the Hoepman Privacy Design Strategies, this course explores eight different strategies, both technically-oriented and process-oriented, and 26 underlying tactics, to help make privacy by design a reality rather than a well-intentioned wish.

Learning Areas

  • Eight Privacy Design Strategies
  • 26 Privacy Design Tactics
  • Technical- and Process-Oriented Approaches
